Biography
Kinam Kim received Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California Los Angeles, CA. in 1994. He received the B.Sc. degree in electronic engineering in 1981 from the Seoul National University, South Korea. In 1983 he received the master degree in electrical engineering from the KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). In 1983 he joined Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., where he has lead the development of various memory technologies (64Kb to 4Giga-bit densities for DRAM, 2Gb to 32Gb and beyond for NAND Flash, and emerging new memories such as PRAM). Now he is the general manager of Samsung Semiconductor R&D center. Dr. Kim received twice the grand prize of Samsung group award for the successful developments of 1Mb DRAM and 1Gb DRAM in 1986 and 1996, respectively. Under his leadership, his team received five consecutive grand prizes of Samsung group award which is the most honorable award in Samsung group in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 by developing 2Gb, 4Gb, 8Gb, 16Gb and 32Gb NAND Flash, respectively. For 2007~2008 he was in charge of the DRAM products and technology. Under his leadership, Samsung DRAMs has outpaced those of competitors in terms of technology migration, die size, performance, power consumption as well as market share. He published more than 430 technical papers in the field of memory technology. He applies and holds more than 130 patents related to memory technology. He plays an active role in advancing memory technology through giving plenary talks and invited talks and participating panel discussions of prime conferences such as VLSI technology symposium, IEDM and ISSCC. He is recipient of ISI’s citation award for highly cited paper. He is the recipient of the 2008 Professional Achievement award of 2008 UCLA School of Engineering. Dr. Kim served committee members or program vice chair for premier conferences such as IEDM, SSDM and etc. He is an IEEE fellow and a Samsung fellow.

Biography
Tien Wu joined Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASE) in March 2000 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer. In March 2003, Tien assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer at ISE Labs, a premier semiconductor testing and engineering house based in Fremont, California, USA. Tien also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc.
Tien plays a vital role from defining and mapping ASE’s execution path to continuously charting the company’s growth. His personal involvement in expanding mutually beneficial partnerships with customers and vendors consistently provides an impetus for ASE to strengthen its leadership position and widen its market share. In 2003, ASE emerged to be number one in the semiconductor packaging and test service provider market. Tien is also responsible for all ASE sales and marketing activities worldwide.
Prior to joining ASE, Tien Wu held several management positions within IBM including R&D, process development, manufacturing, application and ASIC design, marketing, and sales in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Tien holds twelve U.S. patents in the field of microelectronics and has authored over twenty-five articles published in leading journals & academic books. Tien has a BSCE degree from Taiwan University, and also earned MS and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania.
