Sungwoo Kim

Dr. Kim Seongwoo, Ph.D., has been the Executive Officer at Orbray since 2024, where he oversees diamond substrate development, leads research initiatives, and has been driving advancements in diamond heteroepitaxial growth and polishing techniques since 2016. Dr. Kim joined Namiki Precision Jewel Co., Ltd. (now Orbray) in 2008, and throughout his career, he has held key positions, including Chief Researcher in 2013, General Manager of the Diamond Substrate Development Headquarters in 2018, and Director of the Orbray Diamond Research Institute in 2023.

Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Nippon Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering, Japan, in 2007. His expertise lies in GaN growth via the MOCVD, MBE,HVPE method and GaN CMP technology. Dr. Kim also speaks fluent Japanese.
