Ronald M. Pearlstein

Executive Director and Head of Thin Films R&D, Merck Electronics

Ronald M. Pearlstein, Ph.D. has been a member of technical staff at Merck Electronics and its legacy companies since 1989. He is currently the leader of the global R&D organization for the Thin Films business unit. Over his career, his research efforts in semiconductor processing have been extremely varied, including: corrosive gas management and corrosion control, chemical container and delivery system design, new chemical development, silicon chemistry and ALD process development. 
 
Pearlstein received a Ph.D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA in 1988. He also holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. Degree in Chemistry with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, both awarded in 1984. Pearlstein also engaged in post-doctoral research with the Nobel laureate, Professor K. Barry Sharpless from 1988 to 1989.
