James Nehlsen
Head of Specialty Gases R&D, Merck
James Nehlsen is the head of Specialty Gases R&D at Merck, where he leads a research program developing new dry etch gases for higher performance and reduced environmental impact. He previously worked as a researcher in both the Electronics Specialty Gases and Thin Films areas at Merck, focusing on manufacturing process improvement, new materials synthesis, and deposition container design. He is based at Merck’s R&D and manufacturing site in Hometown, Pennsylvania, USA. James received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.
