Vice President, DuPont

Rick Hemond, Ph.D. is Vice President of Sustainability for the Electronics & Industrial (E&I) business group in DuPont.  In addition, he is the Innovation Champion for Sustainability across all of DuPont. As Vice President, Dr. Hemond utilizes his 30+ years of semiconductor experience to create and implement a Materiality driven sustainability strategy. In his DuPont role, Dr. Hemond enables increasing business growth and value creation from sustainable innovation by significantly expanding customer and value chain insights, focusing on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) challenges, partnerships and new business models. Dr. Hemond earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Colby College and his doctorate degree in chemistry from Dartmouth College. Additionally, he held two postdoctoral chemistry positions – the first at King’s College in London, England, and the second at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Hemond joined Shipley Company after his postdoc at MIT. He is the author of 13 scientific articles and holds 3 US patents.
