Sung Hwan Cho

Dr. Sung Hwan Cho leads Hyundai Mobis as President and Chief Executive Officer since December 2020. Previously, he was executive vice president for automotive electronics business unit for the company, responsible for all aspects of products development, strategy and investments.

The conventional parts supplier since 1977, Hyundai Mobis is now transforming to an innovative software solutions provider for autonomous driving, in-vehicle infortainment, and electrification. While expanding its business areas to automotive semiconductor, robotics and urban air mobility, Hyundai Mobis strives to provide performance and quality automotive components for sensors, controllers, lighting solutions, safety devices, electric motors, battery systems and many more.

Dr. Cho began and contributed to most of his career at Hyundai Motor Group with R&D expertise almost 3 decades. Prior to joining Hyundai Mobis, he served as CEO of Hyundai Autron, a former semiconductor and electronic control unit provider, now a part of Hyundai Autoever.

Cho received his Bachelor and Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Seoul National University in Korea, and his Ph.D in mechanical engineering from Stanford University in California, USA.
