Song-Yun Kang

Song-Yun Kang is master (vice president of technology) at Samsung Electronics, where he is responsible for developing breakthrough solutions for etch equipment that enable the next generation of chip innovation.

Prior to joining Samsung Electronics in 2021, he was a member of Tokyo Electron for 19 years, where he oversaw extensive research in etch, clean, and deposition equipment including simulation. He is also a committee of Dry Process Symposium and joins major conferences in plasma science and engineering. He often presents at leading universities and industry conferences around the world.

He earned his Ph.D. and B.S. degrees in quantum chemistry from Kyoto University.
