Intak Jeon
Staff Engineer, Samsung Electronics
Intak Jeon, Ph.D. has been working at Semiconductor R&D Center, Samsung Electronics since 2019 for the development of DRAM MIM capacitor with industrial materials. His research ranges from basic research to process for mass production. His work here leads to an important discovery that unraveled the mystery behind high-k materials and opens new routes beyond Moore technology. He earned a BS in materials science and engineering from Korea University and a PhD in the same discipline from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he developed self-assembly and processing methods to synthesize graphenes with high functionality. After finishing his doctorate in 2018, he spent a period as a postdoc at the same institute. There he worked on exotic graphene chemistry for space applications and oil recovery systems. And then he entered cutting-edge semiconductor industry.
