YoungJae Jang

Young Jae Jang is currently serving as the CEO and Co-Founder of DAIM Research. He also imparts his expertise as an Associate Professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in South Korea. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, where he also earned a double M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Operations Research.
Under his leadership, DAIM Research, founded with fellow Ph.D. graduates from his research lab, has emerged as a frontrunner in developing AI-based solutions for smart factories. His project, “AI-based Smart Factory Solution,” earned recognition as one of KAIST's Top-10 Research of 2019, highlighting his innovative contributions to the field.
Jang's work at DAIM Research has had a substantial impact in the industry, with its platform and software being successfully implemented by major manufacturing giants such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK On, and LG Energy Solutions. Prior to his current roles, he gained invaluable industry experience as a project manager at Micron Technology, further enriching his insights into the practical applications of his research.
