Masaru Hori (invited)
Designated Professor, Professor Emeritus, Nagoya University
Masaru Hori received his B.E. and M.E. degrees from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, in 1981 and 1983, respectively and Ph.D in Department of Electronics from Nagoya University in 1986. During his career, he worked as a researcher at Toshiba Corporation from 1986 to 1992. Later, he held positions as a Research Associate, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor at Nagoya University until 2004. Since 2004, he has been a Professor at Nagoya University, and since 2019, he has served as the Director of the Center for Low-Temperature Plasma Sciences at Nagoya University. Currently, he is Designated Professor and Professor Emeritus at Nagoya University. His current research interests include plasma nanotechnology and life sciences. His awards and honors include 2018 The Plasma Medicine Award, 2019 K-T Rie Award, 2020 Honorary Chair Professor (Taiwan National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan), 2020 The 2nd AAPPS-DPP Plasma Innovation Prize, 2021 DPS Nishizawa Award, 2022 Reactive Plasma Award, 2022 Medal with Purple Ribbon, 2023 Chunichi Culture Award, 2024 The Distinguished Achievement Award of the Japan Society of Applied Physics and other 14 awards.
