Jeong Yun Yu

R&D Director / Korea Advanced Technology Center, Merck

Jeong Yun Yu is the R&D Director for Korea Advanced Technology Center at Merck with responsibility for developing CMP slurries and post CMP cleans. In addition, as a member of Merck Culture & Inclusion Council, Dr. Yu has been actively working on fostering diverse and inclusive work culture.

Prior to joining Merck, Dr. Yu worked with Hanyang University, Samsung SDI, Insilico, and Dow with various roles for research and development in Korea, Japan, and USA. Dr. Yu began her career in semiconductor industry in 1994 as a process engineer at LG Semicon, gaining experience in overall semiconductor processes and device integration.

Dr. Yu received MS and PhD degrees in Physical Chemistry from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Korea and a BS degree in Chemistry Education from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea.

Dr. Yu received the Korea Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WiTeck) Award in 2012 and the Heroes of Chemistry Award from American Chemical Society (ACS) in 2014.
