Derek Bassett

Derek Bassett began working as a research scientist at TEL in 2010. He was promoted to Senior Research Scientist and Principal Research Scientist before being promoted to Member of Technical Staff in 2020. He supports process development in TEL’s wet cleans and etches division through modeling, simulations, and fundamental research. He was awarded the President’s Award by TEL CEO Toshiki Kawai in 2020 for his work in supporting TEL’s advanced drying technologies. 

Dr. Bassett graduated with a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, USA in 2010. Prior to that he attended University of Oklahoma, Ritsumeikan University, and Brigham Young University where he received a B.S. in chemical engineering. Dr. Bassett has previously lived in Japan for several years and speaks fluent Japanese.
