Jeong Yun Yu

R&D Director, Korea Advanced Technology Center Versum Materials

Jeong Yun Yu is the R&D Director for Korea Advanced Technology Center at Versum Materials with responsibility for developing CMP slurries and post CMP cleans. The new Korea R&D center located in Pyeongtaek, Korea has just launched in order to support key chip manufacturers by providing innovative CMP material solutions. As a qualified project management professional (PMP), Dr. Yu is also a global technology project innovate director developing innovate systems for advanced technology organization.

Prior to joining Versum Materials, Dr. Yu was a research professor in Hanyang University (2018), head of R&D for semiconductor materials in Samsung SDI (2015-2017), a consultant in Insilico (2015). Prior to Insilico, she worked for Rohm and Haas, later acquired by Dow and merged as Dupont for 16 years with various roles of increasing responsibility in research and development in Korea, Japan, and USA, culminating in the role of head of Korea Microlithography R&D (2011 to 2014). Dr. Yu began her career in semiconductor industry in 1994 as a process engineer at LG Semicon, gaining experience in overall semiconductor processes and device integration.

Dr. Yu received MS and PhD degrees in Physical Chemistry from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Korea and a BS degree in Chemistry Education from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea.
